MEET OUR MEMBER

Introducing Captain Nik Findlay, callsign 305. Nik has been with CCFD since Sept 2016.

Nik joined as a Junior Fire Fighter and spent many hours to obtain certificates such as NFPA 1001 Full Service, Fire Officer 1, Incident Safety Officer, Wildfire Suppression, Sprinkler Protection, Engine Boss, 1001 Trainer and Evaluator. Nik also serves on a few committees: Ways and Means (organizing events for the department), and Health and Safety. Nik assists with training our Firefighters. He maintains a high attendance on both calls and training always bringing humor along with him. Nik is part of the medical team.

Nik works as an HVAC Technician. He also volunteers as a Ground Search and Rescue member with Alberni Valley Rescue Squad. When Nik isn’t working or volunteering, he can be found playing soccer, slo-pitch or hanging out with friends

Nik says “the best part about Firefighting is taking courses, learning new things and then being able to teach my fellow Firefighters. It’s amazing to see the training come to play on calls and show how effective we are.”
