The OFC Exterior Certification is designed for firefighters who wish to focus on exterior firefighting skills.  This certification is ideal for those who want to specialize in exterior firefighting, contributing to team efforts in managing wildfires, vehicle fires, and exterior structure fires. This program provides training in areas such as:

  • Module 1: PPE/SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus)
  • Module 2: General Knowledge, Safety, Communications, Scene Lighting, Utlities and Emergency Traffic Control
  • Module 3: Ropes and Knots
  • Module 4: Ground Ladders
  • Module 5: Tactical Ventilation - Horizontal
  • Module 6: Hose Lines, Nozzles and Appliances
  • Module 7: Water Supply
  • Module 8: Building Construction & Fire Behaviour
  • Module 9: Hazmat Awareness
  • Module 10: Forcible Entry
  • Module 11: Exterior Fire Attack - Includes Live Fire 1
  • Module 12: Exterior Team Lead 

Completion of this program rewards:

  • Black accountability tags
  • Ability to respond to emergency scenes
  • Ability to be paid on calls
