Darren Bondue
Introducing FF Darren Bondue, callsign 310. FF Bondue has been with the department since September 2020. FF Bondue is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Firefighter of the Year – Cody Thompson Award, a testament to his outstanding commitment and service.
Darren recently completed his OFC Interior certification and is also trained in Wildfire Suppression and Sprinkler Protection. In addition, he’s an active member of our medical response team. In 2023, he was deployed to Kelowna with Tender 34, contributing to the province-wide wildfire efforts. Darren has demonstrated nearly perfect attendance at training practices throughout his time with CCFD and consistently shows up for calls, reflecting his unwavering reliability.
Outside the department, Darren brings the same passion to the rink. He is a long-time minor hockey official, well known for his dedication to the sport and for mentoring young referees, something he finds incredibly rewarding. By day, Darren works as a mechanic for Alberni Towing, where he continues to put his skills and work ethic to good use.
